Mary Ellen Morris, age 71, of Jackson, passed away on April 20, 2018 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Robert Gene McGrath and Emily Mildred (Shindler) McGrath.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael McGrath.
Mary was a teacher for the Jackson City Schools and retired after 37-1/2 years. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and volunteered her time with the Humane Society of Jackson County.
Mary is survived by her husband, Donald E. Morris; a son, Don (Emily) Morris; a daughter, Leslie (Ben) Morris-Palmer; sisters, Carolyn (Ed) Eubanks, Linda (Dick) Sentman and Martha (Richard) Boroff; grandchildren, Kevin Morris and Katie Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Nicola Ventura as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Jackson County, P.O.
