John Elmo Brandau

John Elmo Brandau, age 75, of Oak Hill, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. He was the son of the late Adam and Mable (Cruickshank) Brandau.

He is survived by his wife, Anna (Childers) Brandau of Oak Hill; sons, John Brandau Jr. of Oak Hill, and Ryan Jones of North Carolina; daughter, Rhonda (Lex) Hawk of Jackson; brothers, Steve and Linda Brandau of Oak Hill, Adam Brandau Jr. of Arizona and Raymond Brandau of Florida; sisters, Marilyn Forshey of Jackson, Sadie Watkins of California and Sandy (Dewey) Adams of Minnesota; several uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Lex Hawk III.

He was a truck driver for over 40 years; he last worked for Fed Ex. He went to school in Jackson. He was in the Marine Corps and served in Korea.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio with Rev. Fred Crabtree. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012.
