James A. Wyatt, Sr.

James A. Wyatt, Sr., passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born April 13, 1929 in Jackson County to the late William and Nellie Frances (Ray) Wyatt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Ann (Canter) Wyatt; a son, James A. Wyatt Jr.; daughters: Jean (Keith) Polzer and Roberta (Stephen) Brandau; 3 grandchildren: Heather Whiting, Shelby Durham and Paige Hughes; and 4 great-grandchildren: Peyton Long, Treyvin Powell, Soffie Durham and Bryson White. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He worked most of his life as a plumber, and as a heating and air conditioning repairman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, with Pastors Russel Wyatt and Mike Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
