Holly Jean Shepherd, age 39, of Oak Hill, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 9, 1977, in Gallipolis to Johnny Shepherd and Fern (David) Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, Holly is survived by her daughter, Makayla Strickland (Matthew Clarkson); and granddaughter, Olivia Clarkson, all of Wellston; brothers, Rodney (Paula) Shepherd, of Jackson, David J.R. (Jenny) Mitchell, of Oak Hill and Matthew “Cody” Mitchell (Nikki Coleman), of Oak Hill; fiancé, James Leffingwell, of Oak Hill; aunt, Amelia Wicker, of Foley, Alabama; and two uncles, Avery Newsom and Fred Newsom. Also surviving are several nieces, a nephew and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Thomas and Edith Newsom and paternal grandparents, Leslie and Angie Shepherd.
Holly graduated from Oak Hill High School and then worked at Merillat for numerous years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Dave Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsom Family Cemetery.
