Harold Robert “Bobby” Powers went to heaven on Monday, July 18, 2016, after a life-long illness. He was born on January 11, 1956 in Huntington, West Virginia to Harold Robert Powers, Sr. (deceased) and Dolores Ferro Powers (surviving) of Jackson, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 19 at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Bobby is survived by his sisters, Diane (Paul) Blankenship, Jackson, Ohio; and Linda (Kenny) Engelbresht, Stuart, Florida. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews: Beth (Shawn) Osborne, Jay (Mandee) Blankenship, Molly Blankenship, Jimmy Fisher, and Ashley (Adam) Tripp. Bobby also leaves behind seven great-nieces and great-nephews: Jordan Banks, Kendal Osborne, Landon Osborne, Holden Blankenship, Kingston Blankenship, Grayson Tripp and Madeline Tripp.

Bobby was blessed with the caring employees of Four Winds Nursing Home (especially his loving aide Melissa), where he made his home for the last 20 years. Although Bobby did not live a traditional life, his life was remarkable. He suffered with seizures that damaged his brain but his loving smile and blinking eyes put a smile on everyone’s face.

Bobby’s mission on this Earth was to teach us a lesson in humility and gratitude. He is enjoying his new healthy body and being in the presence of the Lord.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Youth Ministries, 215 Columbia Street, Jackson, OH 45640. Funeral services were under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home & Southern Ohio Cremation Services of Jackson.
