Fern Gussler, age 77, of Byer, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at The Holzer Medical Center of Jackson. She was born May 9, 1940 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late Cecil and Sally McKenzie Rowland.
Fern was a former dietician for Heartland of Jackson for more than 27 years. She was a faithful member of the Rt. 327 Holiness Church for 44 years. Fern enjoyed attending her church, spending time with her family and spending time outside gardening.
She is survived by her three children, Bob Gussler of Ray, Mike Gussler of Chillicothe and Patricia Hamilton-Morris of McArthur; three sisters, Vera McGrath of Wellston, Wanda Christian of Columbus and Twala Taylor of Columbus; as well as eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Fern was preceded in death in 2012 by her husband, whom she was married to for 53 wonderful years, Robert Gussler; an infant daughter, Cynthia Ann; and three brothers, Clement Rowland, William Rowland and Morlen Rowland.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Harper officiating.
