Edna Helene Siders, age 83, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Oakwood Community Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 19, 1936 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late Ethel (Richie) Frye.
Helene was a very loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends, meeting up for a celebration or a meal and enjoying their company. She was employed by the telephone company for many years, where she acquired many lasting friendships even after retirement.
She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Roberta) Frye and Ralph (Charlotte) Frye of Jackson, Ohio; step-children: Toni Plavajka, Tari Siders, and John Siders of California; grandchildren: Shawn (Alisha) Blanton and Stacy (Michael) Sharp of Wellston, Ohio and their mother, Vickie McKenzie; Vickie’s children, Timmy McKenzie and Amy (Chris) Lucas; great-grandchildren: Bella, Desirae, and Kelsey Sharp, Ethan and Isaiah Blanton, Emma (Nathan) Monk, George Lucas, and Kaylee Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Alayna and Caleb Monk; and several close nieces, nephews, and very special friends.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Siders; son, James “Jimmy” Blanton; sister, Mary Siders; brother, Merle Frye; and nephew, Paul Frye, Jr. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.
