Donnie A. Aaron, age 66, of Oak Hill, formerly of Lakeland, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Haleyville, AL. He graduated from West End High School in Birmingham, AL. He was in the Marine Corps and a Vietnam era veteran. He retired from Mosaic Co.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Granny and Pappa Pugh, who raised him and his faithful lab, Opal Rose.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ronda Aaron, of Oak Hill, OH; his children, Derek Aaron and David (Ashley) Aaron, both of Albemarle, NC, Regan (Jared) Denz, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Raulin Platt, of St. Pete, FL; and two granddaughters, Kennedy Aaron and Aubrey Aaron, both of Albemarle, NC. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Vergie Smittle, of Oak Hill, OH; and brother-in-law, Todd (Wendi) Smittle, of Oak Hill, OH; special nieces and nephews, Ty, Maggie, Brandi and Von Smittle, of Oak Hill, OH; Earlene Thrasher and Renee Tinsley, both of FL; Pearl, Ruby and Bear Bryant; and all of his loving friends.

Donnie A. Aaron was loved by all that knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Linda Plummer officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. After the service, a military service will be provided by the Disabled American Veterans Post 45 of Jackson.
