Donald Hiram Waugh

Donald Hiram Waugh, age 86, formerly of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2018 at The Pavilion at Piketon For Nursing and Rehabilitation in Piketon, Ohio. He was born in Jackson, Ohio on January 7, 1932 to the late Chauncey Hogan Waugh and Margaret (Jones) Waugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Gerald, Chan, Paul and Wayne Waugh; and sister, Loretta Waugh.

One of twelve children, he graduated from Jackson High School and served in the U.S. Army. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Ohio University and his law degree from The Ohio State University. As a lawyer, he worked for the Social Security Administration writing national policies. He was an avid reader, but most of all he loved family time.

He is survived by his wife, Martha (Combs) Waugh; two daughters, Melanie (Rob) Plenge and Katrina Waugh; brothers: Johnny, Fred and Dan Waugh; sisters: Coralee Waugh, Mary Felsburg and Ruth Bevins; grandchildren: Riley, Danielle and Shane Plenge and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Bill Taylor officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
