Nancy A. Jenkins Remy

Nancy A. Jenkins Remy, age 66, of Wellston, passed away Saturday morning, October 25, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Jackson, Ohio. She was born June 1, 1948 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Floyd L. Jenkins, Sr. and Helen I. Cartwright Perkins.

Nancy was a 1966 graduate of Wellston High School and a graduate of the Rio Grande School of Nursing. She was a licensed practical nurse, who until her retirement in 2010, was a former employee of Jenkins Care Community in Wellston for 20 years. Nancy was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Jackson and the National Riffle Association. She enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, the outdoors and taking care of people.

She is survived by her husband, Francis Keith Remy; son, Brian K. Remy (Cindy) of Wellston; daughters, Desera Denney Certain (Kallous) of Jackson and Danielle Denney Wells (Ricky) of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Jonathan Oakes, Timothy Wells, Josie Simpson and Mya Simpson; brothers, Floyd Jenkins, Jr. of Wellston and Steve Jenkins (Marcie) of Liverpool, Ohio; sisters, Debbie Gillum (Wilford) of Wellston and Pam Camink (Ray Hall) of Wellston, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her grandson, Damon Jacob Remy, and her brothers, Jeff Jenkins and Billy Jenkins.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Freedom Baptist Church in Jackson, with Pastor Jerry Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery.
