Donald Lewis Hammond, age 85, of Patriot, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.\u00a0 He was born November 1, 1932 to the late Thomas and Maude (Woolum) Hammond.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lawana (Straight) Hammond, of Patriot; sons, Ron (Lori) Hammond and Randy (Michelle) Hammond; grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Boggs, Ambur (Brandon) Tiller, Samantha (Ryan) Klingaman, Emily Hammond, Abby Hammond and Miranda (Matt) Jenkins.\u00a0 Also surviving are great grandchildren, Tyler, Maxton, Paisley, Eden as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.<\/p>\n
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Lucy Tiller; brothers, Ervin, Floyd, Morgan and Bobby Hammond; sisters, Mary Lou Straight, Emmy Miller, Agnes Devore, Eloise Baily and Minnie Hammond.<\/p>\n
Donald was a retired bus driver at Gallia County Schools and a Greenfield Township trustee.\u00a0 He was a member of the Gallia Baptist Church and Greenfield Crime Watch.<\/p>\n
