Raymond A. “Moe” Angel, 89, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at his home in Wellston. He was born in his home on March 12, 1924, to the late Arthur and Jessie McGhee Angel. He was a 1942 graduate of Wellston High School and a WW II Army veteran, having served in Europe with C Battery, 1st and 3rd, the 281st Field Artillery Battalion. He retired after 26 years as a truck driver for Winters Concrete during which time he was a Union Steward for the Teamsters. He was proud to be a lifelong Democrat.<\/p>\n
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Bill, Edwin, Clyde, and Jack Angel; and three sisters: Vera Wisenburger, Cressie Humphreys, and Annalee Harrison.<\/p>\n
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Raye Angel (Joe) Riley of Athens, Ohio; a granddaughter and light of his life, Jordan Riley; five step-daughters: Cindy Kessler, Marcia Kessler, and Lenoir Huston of Wellston; Kathy Nino of Jackson; and Andrea Schoonmaker of Chillicothe; one sister, Helen Skinner of Michigan; several step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Fredelene Farley Kessler Angel Wagoner of Jackson, Ohio.<\/p>\n
Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Jenkins Chapel with John Pelletier CLP officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with military services by American Legion Post #371 of Wellston.<\/p>\n
The family suggests memorials in Raymond’s name be made to the Salvation Army or The Disabled American Veterans.<\/p>\n
