Donald Matthew \u201cMatt\u201d Simpkins, 30, of Coalton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2, 2013.<\/p>\n
He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on July 31, 1983 , son of Donald A. Simpkins of Columbus, Ohio, and the late Carol Gillman Ross. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jerry \u201cBub\u201d Workman, and his grandparents. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was self-employed and liked to work on cars, electronics, and small equipment. He was always willing to give a friend a helping hand and asked for nothing in return.<\/p>\n
Besides his father, he is survived by his close step-father, Roy Ross of Hamden, Ohio; a brother, Tony Chapman of Tennessee; two sisters, Tammy Chapman of Tennessee and Catrina (Kenny) Storms of Coalton; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and his best friend, Keith Jones of Coalton.<\/p>\n
Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Monday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Pastor Kenneth Storms Sr. will officiate the services and burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.<\/p>\n
The family has requested that donations in \u201cMatt\u2019s\u201d name can be made to the Jenkins Funeral Chapel, P.O.Box 45 , Wellston, Ohio, 45692, to assist with funeral expenses.<\/p>\n
