Jack Clay, age 85, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his grandson’s home in Napoleon, Ohio. He was born in Jackson, Ohio November 1, 1926 to the late Albert and Esther (Ross) Clay. He worked for DT&I and Grand Trunk Railroad for 45 years; he was a veteran of World War II; he loved bluegrass music and camping.<\/p>\n
He is survived by brother, Lloyd (Pat) Clay of Jackson; son-in-law, Robin Meter; daughter, Karen Clay of Napoleon, Ohio; step daughter, Cindy Allen (Basil) Noblet of Indianapolis, Indiana; two grandchildren, Gary (Michelle) Meter and Alicia Meter, both from Napoleon; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friend Margaret Haynes; and two aunts, Kathleen Angles and Frances J. Tatro.<\/p>\n
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Doris Downey and wife, Mary Allen Clay; daughter, Claudia Meter; sisters, Betty Sherman and Wanda Riegel; brothers, Charles and Floyd Clay; and sisters-in-law, Donna Clay and Shirley Clay.<\/p>\n
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Tim Keaton officiating and burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the funeral home.<\/p>\n
