Gladys “Polly” Sinclair-Cavey, age 94, of Jackson, passed away at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis on Sunday, Jan. 17 due to complications of COVID-19. She was born in Jackson on Dec. 17, 1926, to the late Fredrick and Kathryn (Whaley) Altherr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry “Buck” Sinclair; her second husband, Charles “Pete” Cavey; a son, John “Jeff” Sinclair; and three sisters: Ruby Altherr, Juanita Loftis and Shirley Howell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Levite; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Altherr; and several nieces and nephews with whom she was very close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Polly was a voracious reader and loved music and visiting with family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Graveside services will be held at Fairmount Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m., with Bill Taylor as celebrant. A repast will follow at the Stockroom, 601 E. Main St. in Jackson, Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
