Hudson, age 86, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, July 4 at his home.&nbsp;He was born October 16, 1934, in Wellston, son of the late Evan Sanford Hudson and Beulah Betts Hudson.&nbsp;Following over 35 years of service, Ron retired from the State of Ohio, where he was a District 9 weigh man. He was also a Wellston businessman for many years, having owned and operated&nbsp;Ron&#8217;s Trophies in Wellston.&nbsp;For over 20 years, Ron served as Wellston&#8217;s Recreation Director, a position he held with much pride.&nbsp;In years past, he enjoyed coaching Pee Wee, Little League and American Legion ball teams.&nbsp;Ron was a gentle, quiet man with a good heart.&nbsp;Always supporting the youth and his community, he would give anything to anyone if he had it.&nbsp;He was also a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.&nbsp;Ron was a 50+ year member of the Black Diamond Lodge #538 F&amp;AM and a member of American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elfriede J. Ebnet Hudson; children, Ellie Hudson-Ervin of Wellston, Ronnie Hudson (Wendy Lilly) of Gallipolis, and Robin Kartzenberg Hudson of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Ryan Hudson&nbsp;(Beth Mohr Hudson)&nbsp;of Gallipolis, Kyle Hudson of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Kristen Smith of Wellston; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Quinn Smith, Abbie and Sophie Hudson and Jake Lyons; sister, Martha Staten (Butch) of Wellston; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.&nbsp;Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by grandson, Ronald Alan Hudson; brother, Jim Hudson; and mother-in-law, Anna Ebnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In keeping with Ron&#8217;s wishes, his body was cremated. Visitation at the McWilliams Funeral Home\u00a0in Wellston will be Friday, July 9, from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. with a Masonic service following the visitation at 6:45 p.m. Memorial service, with military honors, will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.
