{"id":11721,"date":"2021-05-20T21:18:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-21T01:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/?p=11721"},"modified":"2021-06-08T21:19:34","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T01:19:34","slug":"joann-mcghee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/2021\/05\/20\/joann-mcghee\/","title":{"rendered":"Joann McGhee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Joann (Sharp) McGhee left her earthly home and joined her heavenly family on May 19th, 2021.&nbsp;She was surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who have been by her side. She was born February 18th, 1951 to the late John \u201cJack\u201d Sharp and Gertrude Sharp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She graduated from Oak Hill High School and in 1970 married Charles (\u201cChuck)\u201d McGhee with whom she celebrated their 50th anniversary last summer. Together they had three children: Lisa (JB) Bevins, Stephanie (Kevin) Dulaney, Charles (Heidi) McGhee; grandchildren: Nicole (Hunter) Havens, Harley (Cullier Robinson), Wyatt McGhee, Samantha Dulaney, and Aiden and Ansen Thorne; two precious great-granddaughters, Ivy Havens and Scarlet Robinson; siblings: John (Susan) Sharp, Sharon (Eddie) McGhee, and Pam (Jeff) White; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to her own children, she was \u201cMama Jo\u201d to countless young people whom she either babysat or mentored, and was known as the neighborhood Mama. Everyone knew if you needed a hug, or a meal Jo was always there.\u00a0She also fed all the deer hunters (some never hunted, and just came for the bountiful food supply!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she was healthier, she spent her summers gardening and canning.\u00a0Her pantry was always stocked, and she was ready to share with anyone who needed it.\u00a0She also loved playing games on her computer, looking at family photos on Facebook, and going gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in- law, Charles \u201cBus\u201d and Daisy McGhee; as well as sister-in-law, Diana Martin; and brother-in-law, Roger McGhee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 22nd from 4 p.m. \u2013 8p.m. at the Lewis &amp; Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 23rd at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Per CDC and governor guidelines, everyone is to wear a mask while indoors and practice proper social distancing and procedures.
