Lewis D. Campbell, age 74, of Oak Hill, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his home in Oak Hill. He was born on October 22, 1946 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Roy E. and Ernestine C. (Crawford) Campbell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lewis is survived by his three sons, John Campbell, of Rochester Hills, MI, Steven Campbell (Gabbie Rowland), of Oak Hill, Austin Campbell, Norfolk, VA; sister, Crystal Forehand, of Disputanta, VA; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Roy and Brenda; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He went to school in Colonial Heights, Virginia.\u00a0\u00a0After school he joined the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam.\u00a0\u00a0After Vietnam, he worked in construction, automotive, millwright, and retired as a boilermaker.\u00a0\u00a0Cars were always a part of his life.\u00a0\u00a0He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a small business owner in Oak Hill.\u00a0\u00a0Lewis was instrumental in starting the Oak Hill Amvets post 279 and was also the past vice president.Friends may call Friday, March 12 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill and again Saturday, March 13th from 12 p.m.-2p.m.\u00a0\u00a0Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 with Pastor Danny Boggs officiating.\u00a0\u00a0Burial will follow in CM Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the United States Navy and the Disabled American Veterans of Jackson.\u00a0\u00a0Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice proper social distancing.\u00a0\u00a0Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Lewis D.
