{"id":11258,"date":"2020-12-15T19:14:19","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T00:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/?p=11258"},"modified":"2020-12-21T19:15:13","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T00:15:13","slug":"pauline-mae-sharp-mayse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/2020\/12\/15\/pauline-mae-sharp-mayse\/","title":{"rendered":"Pauline Mae (Sharp) Mayse"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Dec. 14, 2020 at the age of 89, &nbsp;went to be with the Lord due to COVID complications at Four Winds Nursing Home.&nbsp; She was a resident in the Apple Ridge Alzheimer&#8217;s Unit for two years.&nbsp; In the two years it became her home.&nbsp; The staff loved and cared for her like she was one of their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pauline Mae (Sharp) Mayse was born April 15, 1931 to Erman and Mamie Louella Sharp in Jackson, Ohio.&nbsp; On Sept. 18, 1953 she was united with Brownie Mayse.&nbsp; In the 37 years of marriage they had three children: Terry (Debbie) Mayse, Kathy (Dave) Sparks and Tami (Phil) Taylor.&nbsp; She was blessed with five grandchildren: Kathy Lynn (Kelly) Mayse, Jeffrey (Chelsea) Mayse, Tonya (Mike) Burton, Kayla Taylor and Samantha (Randy) Fulks; 10 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Lexi, Caden, C.J., Dalton, Abby, Tucker, Lyla, Cody and Corey; and she was blessed with four great-great-grandchildren: Avel, Isabela, Elaina and coming soon Leo Campos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pauline was preceded in death by her parents: Erman and Mamie Louella Sharp; her loving husband, Brownie Mayse; brothers:&nbsp; William Arthur, June, Bobby Dean and Nelson; great-granddaughter, Emma Faye Taylor; five brothers-in-law: Charles Perkins, Glen Crabtree, Carl Wyatt, Billy Robinson and Doyle Rose; sisters-in-law: Sissy Marie, Virgie, and Adlee Rose; very special friend for 21 years, Tom Hargett.&nbsp; She leaves behind four sisters: Minnie Perkins, Jackie Wyatt, Lillian Crabtree and Wanda Robinson; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mayse; and leaves several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was a devoted wife for 37 years and a wonderful mother and sister. She loved the Lord, and was a member for 75+ years of the Jackson First Church of the Nazarene.&nbsp; She was involved with the Women&#8217;s Ministries for several years.&nbsp; When they needed a program planned they would always get her involved with it.&nbsp; She was very patriotic.&nbsp; She was known for her Minnie Pearl shows for local nursing homes, churches and reunions.&nbsp; She loved to paint pictures; her favorite was snow scenes.&nbsp; She loved to write poems, and played the piano.&nbsp; She would say \u201cwhat do you want to hear?\u201d and it was her favorite song, \u201cIt Had to be You\u201d and then \u201cI Love You Because.\u201d&nbsp; She loved the good old Gospel songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you, Four Winds staff, for the awesome job you did taking care of our loved one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Apple Ridge Alzheimer&#8217;s Unit, Four Winds Nursing Home, 215 Seth Avenue, Jackson, Ohio 45640.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Phillip Taylor officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.&nbsp; The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, for those opting to attend the visitation and\/or funeral service, face masks are required inside the funeral home.&nbsp; Proper social distancing must also be practiced.&nbsp; We thank you for your cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.
