{"id":10855,"date":"2020-07-13T18:17:53","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T22:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/?p=10855"},"modified":"2020-07-25T18:21:41","modified_gmt":"2020-07-25T22:21:41","slug":"patricia-ann-wells-mccorkle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/2020\/07\/13\/patricia-ann-wells-mccorkle\/","title":{"rendered":"Patricia Ann Wells (McCorkle)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Saturday, July 11, 2020, Patricia Ann Wells (n\u00e9e McCorkle), lovingly known to friends as \u201cPatty\u201d and to her family as \u201cMomwells,\u201d of Ironton, Ohio, departed this earth to her heavenly home.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patty was born on Sept. 23, 1934 in Blackfork, Ohio to Goldie and George McCorkle with 11 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Blackfork High School, and explored different career paths throughout her life, holding positions as a florist, nanny, and at Staley\u2019s Pharmacy and The Patio in Ironton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patty was a dedicated Christian and active member of Haver Hill United Methodist Church, under Pastor Bob Morrow. She was an ardent reader throughout her life, reading books of every genre. Patty was also passionate about staying active, and you could often find her walking the paths at Central Park in Ashland. She loved the music of Elvis Presley and a good cup of black coffee; but her greatest passion in life was being a Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patty raised five children, and had 11&nbsp;grandchildren, 14&nbsp;great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild\u2014and due to her caring, compassionate nature\u2014acted and was loved as a mother and grandmother to many others throughout her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patty was preceded in death by her mother and father; daughters, Goldie McCorkle and Belinda Powell and son, Ossie Akers Jr. She is survived by daughters, Debi Johnson and Robin Fletcher; grandchildren, Nikki Sharp (Bill), Shawn Powell (Nicole), Claudette Saunders, Joshua Waddell, Zak Fetcher, Patrick Waddell, Brittany Stewart,&nbsp;Valerie Gilbert Farruggia,&nbsp;Keylee Fletcher, Tad Johnson and Tanner Johnson; great-grandchildren, Austin Harper, Halie Porter, Emilee Powell, McKenzie Saunders, Grace Harper, Alice Gilbert, Shelby Powell, Aiden Young, Addison Waddell, Bailey Waddell, Rowen Stewart, Liam Waddell, Taylor Johnson, and Bonham Fletcher; great-great-grandchild, Ryker Porter; daughter-in-law, Donna Waddell; sister, Debbie Clifford and brothers, Dale,&nbsp;Ralph, and&nbsp;George McCorkle; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patty\u2019s&nbsp;Memorial Service will be held&nbsp;Wednesday,&nbsp;July 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Haver Hill United Methodist Church.&nbsp;Fellowship will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and service&nbsp;from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Masks will be required to be worn&nbsp;for those in attendance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flowers for her memorial service or donations to her church in her name may be sent to Haver Hill United Methodist Church, 43 Haverhill &#8211; Ohio Furnace Road, Haverhill, OH 45636.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, July 11, 2020, Patricia Ann Wells (n\u00e9e McCorkle), lovingly known to friends as \u201cPatty\u201d and to her family as \u201cMomwells,\u201d of Ironton, Ohio, departed this earth to her heavenly home.&nbsp; Patty was born on Sept. 23, 1934 in Blackfork, Ohio to Goldie and George McCorkle with 11 brothers and sisters.
