Douglas Coll, age 68, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Nov. 3, 2019 after an extended illness. He was a life-long resident of Jackson. Doug was born Dec. 21, 1950 to the late Maurice and Cereta (Arthur) Coll. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is survived by brothers, Dan Coll, Tim (Mary) Coll, of Jackson, Rev. Dennis (Dee) Coll, of Lancaster, Ohio; sisters, Cynthia (Martin) Wallace, Mary (Kenny) Taylor, of Jackson and sister-in-law, Linda Coll, of Arizona. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doug attended Jackson City Schools and began his career in the coal industry and was a member of the UMWA. He later developed his own company, Coll Electric that serviced the area for many years. His final place of employment was Ohio Precious Metals. Doug had a very inquisitive mind and a wealth of knowledge about history, which he liked to share. He was always interested in automobiles, motorcycles or anything on wheels. He was a member of the Patriots Motorcycle Club. Doug was a proud member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with an Elks service at 12:30 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Coll officiating.\u00a0A private burial will follow in Mt.
