Barbara Lynn Davis Thomas passed away suddenly Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by husband: Fred Steven Thomas; father: Malchom Davis Sr.; grandparents: Oscar and Alberta Stapleton; and paternal grandparents: Roscoe and Mary Davis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is survived by one son: Fred Thomas II of Wellston; daughter: Natasha (Kerry) Shelton; granddaughter: Ela Emily K. Shelton of Jackson; mother: Barbara Bentley of Wellston; sister: Mary (Joey) Crabtree of Wellston; brothers: Malchom (Denise) Davis of Jackson, Johnny (Teresa) Davis of West Virginia; half siblings: Delano Davis, Aaron David and Alice May Aliff, all of West Virginia; as well as countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barbara never met a stranger. She was loved by everyone that ever met her. She was selfless and was always the first one to volunteer to help in any and every situation. She loved trips to the beach and shopping, even when there wasn\u2019t anything she needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barbara loved visiting and spending time with family and friends. She loved children and always wanted to plan fun events and parties for the kids. She probably transported half of Jackson from the movies to sporting events and home in her big gold van from one time or another. She especially loved spending time with Ela. They were definitely partners in crime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made directly to Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in her name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Memorial Service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 5 p.m. with Robert Alexander officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. up until the time of the service at 5 p.m. Fellowship and dinner immediately following the service will be held at High Praise Ministries, 148 Water Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
