{"id":10107,"date":"2019-10-08T21:59:32","date_gmt":"2019-10-09T01:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/?p=10107"},"modified":"2019-10-08T21:59:34","modified_gmt":"2019-10-09T01:59:34","slug":"barbara-lynn-davis-thomas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jacksoncountyohiogen.com\/members\/2019\/10\/08\/barbara-lynn-davis-thomas\/","title":{"rendered":"Barbara Lynn Davis Thomas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Barbara Lynn Davis Thomas passed away suddenly Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by husband: Fred Steven Thomas; father: Malchom Davis Sr.; grandparents: Oscar and Alberta Stapleton; and paternal grandparents: Roscoe and Mary Davis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is survived by one son: Fred Thomas II of Wellston; daughter: Natasha (Kerry) Shelton; granddaughter: Ela Emily K. Shelton of Jackson; mother: Barbara Bentley of Wellston; sister: Mary (Joey) Crabtree of Wellston; brothers: Malchom (Denise) Davis of Jackson, Johnny (Teresa) Davis of West Virginia; half siblings: Delano Davis, Aaron David and Alice May Aliff, all of West Virginia; as well as countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara never met a stranger.&nbsp; She was loved by everyone that ever met her.&nbsp; She was selfless and was always the first one to volunteer to help in any and every situation.&nbsp; She loved trips to the beach and shopping, even when there wasn\u2019t anything she needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara loved visiting and spending time with family and friends.&nbsp; She loved children and always wanted to plan fun events and parties for the kids.&nbsp; She probably transported half of Jackson from the movies to sporting events and home in her big gold van from one time or another.&nbsp; She especially loved spending time with Ela.&nbsp; They were definitely partners in crime.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made directly to Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in her name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Memorial Service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 5 p.m. with Robert Alexander officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. up until the time of the service at 5 p.m. Fellowship and dinner immediately following the service will be held at High Praise Ministries, 148 Water Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.
