Winifred Grace Radcliff

Winifred Grace Radcliff (Cheek), age 78, of Wellston, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at Jenkins Care Community. Gracie, as she was affectionately known, will be remembered for her love of walking, baking, and spoiling her sweet Dachshund, Lady.

Grace was born on Sept. 3, 1938 in Jackson. She attended Jackson High School and Rio Grande College and retired from General Mills. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed attending air shows and on Aviation Day in Nov. of 1961, she was a passenger on the first flight tour of Jackson County at Evans Airport.

Grace is survived by daughters, Robin Johnson (Michael) and Kimberly Denney (Michael) of Wellston; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Levi (Angela), Michael, Juliana and Benjamin (Julie); four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by siblings, Ruby Smith, Geneva McFarland (Rev. Dr. John), Billy Cheek (Jane), Candy Sue Winteregg (Dr. Steven L.), Tommy Cheek (Edith), Cathy Planner (Dave), Eddie Cheek (Mary), and Debbie Nemeth (Rich).

In addition to her loving husband of 43 years, Bob, she was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Cheek and Elsie LeMaster Cheek; and brothers, Holly and Johnny Cheek.

The family of Grace Radcliff wishes to thank her tremendous caregivers, the staff of Jenkins Care Community, the nurses of Heartland Hospice Care, and Holzer Hospital and Home Care. Friends may call Friday, Jan. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, 135 Broadway St., Jackson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. The Pastor, Tim Jones, will officiate.
