Wilma Jean “Jeannie” Conn

Wilma Jean “Jeannie” Conn, age 82, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Edgewood Manor of Wellston.  She was born Oct. 7, 1938 in Manchester, Ohio to the late Hershel Wilson Ross and Thelma Louise Boone Ross. 

Jeannie was a 1957 graduate of Manchester High School.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who retired from Pillsbury, where she was employed for 20 years.  Jeannie enjoyed camping with her husband, traveling, trips to the beach and reading, but most of all, she loved taking care of, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Wellston Church of the Nazarene. 

Jeannie is survived by her children, Sharon Angles of Bradenton, Florida, Lisa Vires (Scott) of Wellston and Brian Conn (Barb) of Wellston; grandchildren, Justin Angles (Brandy), Ashley Sherman (Adam), Sarah Mace (Daniel), Logan Conn (Sami), Alex Vires and Jacob Vires; great-grandchildren, Leo and Noah Sherman, Wyatt, Levi, Laiken, Derby and Landree Mace, and Max Conn; siblings, Dorothy Helterbridle (Bob) of Manchester, Jack Ross (Jeannie) of Manchester, Elaine Shelton (Dan) of West Milton and Jerry Ross (Beverly) of Manchester; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herby E. Conn in 2019; son-in-law, Darrell Angles; sister, Hattie Perry; and brother, Hershel Ross. 

Private funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Jeannie’s funeral will be livestreamed on the McWilliams Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
