Wilma Jean Dillon

Wilma Jean Dillon, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.  She was born March 22, 1940 in Oak Hill to the late Clarence and Sarah Gertrude (Crabtree) Adkins. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Carl and Robert Adkins and sisters, Virginia Trapp and Vicky Adkins.

Left to mourn her loss are her brothers, Paul, Ted and Gary Adkins; brother-in-law, Dave Dillon; and sisters, Juanita Smith, Ruby Yates, and Connie Carney.

Wilma married Paul Edmond Dillon on Nov. 20, 1955 and started on her life journey.  Together, they had three children, Paul Jr. (Kim) Dillon, Jerry (Angie) Dillon and Lori Beal; she had eight grandchildren, including Sarah, Ryan, Jerry Jr., Chad, Andrew, Alyssa, Holly and Paige.  Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Wilma resided in Columbus most of her life, raising her children and being a homemaker.  She held numerous different jobs that would still allow her to be a mother and wife.  It was always important to her to be there for her family.  Paul was by her side until the end and will mourn her loss the most after 64 years of marriage. 

Friends may call Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fred Crabtree officiating.  Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
