William “Junior” Manning

William “Junior” Manning, 93, of Baltimore, Ohio and formerly of Oak Hill, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015. He was born May 12, 1922 in Nelsonville, to the late William E. and Bessie (Strickland) Manning.

Junior is a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II. He was an avid Country/Western and Gospel music performer.

He is survived by siblings: Lottie Britton, Annabelle Murray, Don (Louise) Manning and Shirley Tullos; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Irene Stratton, Denver Manning, Evelyn Dudley, and Wilma Jean Starr.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery.
