Wilda V. Crabtree

Wilda V. Crabtree, age 94, of Jackson, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at Four Winds in Jackson. She was born May 13, 1923 in Jackson to the late John and Irene (Berry) Crabtree.

She is survived by her life-long friend of 64 years, Ruth McKitterick, of Jackson; special friends, Kim (Tom) (McKitterick) Moses, Rev. Dr. Joshua James Sherwood and Nathan Darren (Lacey) Sherwood, whom she thought of as her own grandchildren and Kennedy Sherwood, whom she thought of as her own great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Imogene Crabtree; niece, Teresa Jones and great-niece, Erin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fenton Crabtree and special friend, Bill Darling, along with numerous friends.

She was a member of the Jackson Christian Church, a member of Eastern Star and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She spent most of her life baby-sitting and working at the Jackson Daycare Center as a volunteer grandma.

Friends may call Monday, Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kerry Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
