Weldon Thomas Belcher

Weldon Thomas Belcher, age 77, of Jackson, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born in Lawrence County, Ohio on July 12, 1942 to the late Wendell P. and Blanche Anne (Smith) Belcher.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian L. (Fox) Belcher; sons: Tom Belcher and Bill Belcher (Heather Walker); daughters: Brenda L. (Thomas) Ruggles, Susan K (Micah) Leedy and Linda K. (Michael) Williams; 14 grandchildren: Amanda Swann, Chris Swann, Beth Swann, Dustin Belcher, Steven Rollins, Leanna Baker, Matthew Bolen, Alex Belcher, Katie Belcher, Jaymin Belcher, Bryce Ramey, Hannah Williams, Chloe Williams and Charlee Belcher; six great-grandchildren: Ashton Swann, Brooklyn Fizer, Brayden Fizer, Izzy Belcher, Eli Swann and Roman Swann; and three step-grandchildren: Roger Ruggles, Matthew Ruggles and Nathen Lee Leedy. Also surviving are his brothers: Lewis (Brenda) Belcher and Kenneth Belcher, along with several nieces and nephews.

Weldon enjoyed working on cars and farming. Most of all he enjoyed fishing with his grandkids.

Funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.
