Wayne Massie

Wayne W. Massie, 70, of Hamden, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at his residence. He was born on June 24, 1946 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Glen and Madeline (Humphreys) Massie. Wayne was a very hard worker who dug graves at Hamden Cemetery (by hand) for forty years. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing poker and gambling, as well as four wheeler riding.

He is survived by his loving family: children, Tim Massie, Marie Bobo (Brandon Cantrell), Anthony Dillen (Sylvia) and Josh Beuchner; five grandchildren: Nathan, Ryan, Brooke, Aiden, and Gaven; four brothers: Mac, Tom, Jackie, and Kent Massie; four sisters Sue Harmon, Glenna Piotrowski, Carolyn Canterbury, and Joyce Byler; former wives, Ruth Remy and Marlene (Danny) Crislip; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Simpson; granddaughter, Destiny; and two brothers, Bob and Dennis Massie.

A funeral service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway Street. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m.
