Wanda Kaye Wood, 79, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born March 8, 1942, in Wooster, Ohio, to the late William and Mary Ferrel Darnell. She was a graduate of Piketon High School and a former assistant at the Wellston Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker and loved her dogs, Belle and Luna. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter in 2008, Jeannie Jo Martin, and a son in 1994, Ricky Lee Martin.
Surviving are two sons, David D. ( Angel ) Gray of Huntington and Mark J. ( Roberta ) Martin of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Noah and Jordan Gray of Huntington; two sisters, Dinah ( Fred ) Malone of Jackson and Bonnie ( Moto ) Dixon of Wellston; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with Pastor Wilford Gillem officiating.
As COVID continues, facial masks and social distancing are required inside the funeral chapel.
