Vivian M. Gillem, 90, of Wellston, went home with her Lord while surrounded by her family, on Sunday afternoon, June 4, 2017, at Jenkins Care Community. She was born on Nov. 18, 1926, at Cove, Ohio, to the late Wilford and Hazel Crabtree Allen. She was a nurse’s aide at long-term care facilities and private homes in the Shelby County, Ohio area prior to moving back to Wellston. She was a member of the Emmanuel House of Refuge and loved reading her Bible. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sons: Harold, Timothy, Marty, and Johnnie Jr.; a sister, Violet Trimpe; and a brother, John Allen.

She is survived by five sons: Elvie L. Gillem of Wellston, Douglas (Margaret) Gillem of Pemberton, Ohio, Roger (Lisa) Gillem of Minford, Ohio, Randy (Debbie) Gillem of Whitley, Kentucky, and Wilford ( Debbie) Gillem of Jackson; four daughters: Rosadean Lenegar of Wellston, Cheryl Hickman of Coalton, Phyllis Richardson of Anna, Ohio, and Carolyn Sue (Ed) Powers of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Gillem, of Pemberton, Ohio; 33 grandchildren, many great- and great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. Services will be at the Jenkins Chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. with Reverend Don Gilroy officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.
