Verlin Short

Verlin Short, age 71, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home. He was born October 14, 1944 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Devert and Susan (Baker) Short.

Verlin is survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Thomas) Fannin, of Wellston, Angela (Bill) Rickman, of Ray, Ohio and Trenda Wright, of Wellston; grandchildren, Brett, Adam and Sheri Fannin, and Russ (Michelle) Landrum and Jarod (Kayla) Landrum; and great-grandchildren, Collin, Caleb, Taylor and Jaycie Landrum. Also surviving are his special friend, Emilie Paul and his brother, L.C. Short.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Viola (Sheets) Short; an infant daughter, Verlina Short and sister, Patricia (Short) Doles.

He retired from the Brown Corp. in Waverly, Ohio. He attended Savageville Community Church for many years. He loved children, people and helping people.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Jorge Anido officiating. Burial will follow in Log Pile Cemetery.
