Tad Franklin

By | April 16, 2022

With devastation and great sorrow, Tad Franklin, age 40, passed away peacefully at his home with his family and pups by his side early morning on April 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with a rare cancer.

Tad was born on October 25, 1981, to Dan and Jackie (Kelley) Franklin, of Jackson Ohio. He graduated from Jackson High School class of 2000. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Ohio University in 2005. Tad was a dog lover and tried to rescue any animal he could. He was an avid lover of traveling, hanging out with friends and family, cooking, camping, doing yard work, cleaning, kayaking and anything outdoors. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and do anything he put his mind to. He had a great sense of humor. He was humble, prideful and was loved by everyone. He was often a guiding hand to many. He loved all genres of music, mainly 80s/90s, rock, alternative and old classic country. He was a collector, restorer and very knowledgeable of classic muscle cars, his one true passion in life.

Tad will be deeply and terribly missed by his wife and one true love, Jessica (Lenegar) Franklin; his pets: Harlan, Jax, Bella, Dudley and the late Harley, and Hayley.

He will never be forgotten. His family is deeply saddened and will miss Tad very much. He is leaving behind his sister, Mendy (Mitch) Saunders; nieces and nephews: Braxton, Tristan, Kellan, Garron and Aerion; as well as a very large extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Friends may visit from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:30 p.m. A celebration of life will take place in the future. The location and date are to be announced. The family asks you to always share a story, memory and laugh about the times spent with Tad. Pour a drink and have a toast to honor him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Ross County Humane Society. Tad would be so happy about the donations.
