Stewart Shoemaker

Stewart Denver Shoemaker, 85, of Oak Hill passed away Friday, Aug. 13 at his residence. Born May 23, 1936, in Minford, a son of the late Stewart and Pearl Bowman Shoemaker, he was an electrician for Martin Marietta, and an Air Force Vietnam Veteran.

He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Hilderbrant Shoemaker, of 59 years who survives along with their three children: Stewart Matthew (Brooke) Shoemaker, Tammy Faye Shoemaker, Patty (Jeanie) Chapman; five grandchildren: David (Kristenia) Walk, Bobby Chapman, Jesse (Tiffany) Chapman, Logan Hines, Landon Hines; three great grandchildren: Alexandria Jade Walk, Conner Lee Walk, Maddison Paige Chapman; three brothers: Roy Lundy, Larry Lundy, Paul Lundy; one sister, Ruth Willis; a special friend, Robin Ray, and his little dog Squirt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Eugene Lundy; one sister, Thelma Shoemaker, and five brothers, Carl Shoemaker, Frank Lundy, Roy Lundy, Tommy Lundy, and Gary Lundy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Mack Walk officiating. Burial will be at White Gravel Cemetery in Minford.
