Shirley Ann (Coyan) Jones, age 79, of Jackson, Ohio, died on August 13, 2016 after battling cancer. Shirley was born in Jackson, Ohio on April 14, 1937 to the late William Raymond Coyan and Blanche Nellie (Hayth) Coyan.
Those left to celebrate her life, love, and laughter are her children: Joy Orender, Evan “Randy” Jones, Kelli Harper, Faith (Dan) Hocter, and Hope Jones (George Sewald); grandchildren: Kelli (John, II) Beatty, Derrick Frasure, Danny, John and Evan Hocter, and Melissa and Allison Sewald; great-grandchildren: John Beatty III, and Joshua and Jace Beatty; brothers: Carl Coyan, Thomas (Carole) Coyan, Michael (Julia) Coyan; sisters-in-law: Rose Elaine Kellerman, Carolyn (Cecil) McCorkle, and Collette Howard; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her cherished husband, Evan Dwight Jones; sweet grandson, Stephen Andrew Orender; parents-in-law, Elmer and Gladys (Shook) Jones; sisters, Virginia (Marlin) Law, Bernice (Alfred) Fisher, Alpharetta (John) McLaughlin, and Saundra Coyan; brothers, William “Buddy” Coyan, Norman (Hazel) Coyan, James Coyan, and Stephen Coyan; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Jaqueline) Jones and Harold “Spike” Howard; and sister-in-law, Karlene Coyan.
Shirley’s battle with cancer was courageous, and her fight reminded us of the preciousness of the life we are given. Shirley lived her life laughing and loving, and will be remembered as the one who laughed the loudest and loved the most. She will be truly missed.
Memorial services will be held on September 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.
