Shirley A. Smith, 77, of Wellston, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at her home. She was born on Jan. 3, 1943, in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Brown) Smith.

Shirley was a woman of many talents. She loved crafting and decorating for every holiday. She enjoyed collecting angels, listening to Elvis Presley, and watching television. She could be quite comical at times with her “tell it like it is, no filter” personality. She had a laugh that was contagious and will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her family: brothers, Randy Smith, Dick Smith, and Bruce (Donna) Smith; sisters, Earlma Corvin (Howard) and Debbie Bishop; several nieces and nephews; as well as her special friend, Robin Corvin; all the girls at Jackson Kroger; and her beloved cat, Angel.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by brothers: Gene, Greg, and Earl “Sonny” Smith; sisters, Pauline Davis and Pam West; as well as an infant sister, Isabelle Smith.

A funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery beside her mother.

The family will receive friends also on Wednesday, Jan. 6, one hour prior to services from noon until 1 p.m.
