Sharon Webb

Sharon Kay Webb, age 72, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, July 24 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 11, 1949, in Wise, Virginia, daughter of the late Warren C. Salyer and Iris J. Gilliam Salyer. Sharon graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1967. She retired from the General Telephone Company, where she was a records clerk for several years. Sharon was a very intelligent, and sometimes opinionated, lady who loved kids, and they all loved her. Throughout her life, she was a “Nan” to many. Along with shopping, Sharon also enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises and trips to the beach. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with family. Sharon attended Truth Church in Hamden and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Glenn E. “Bub” Webb; daughter and son-in-law, Glena and John Will of Wellston; she was a Nan to Susan Will, Wesley Will, Kyle Staten and Carter Staten; and niece, Malina Salyer. Besides her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brothers, Terry Salyer and Dennis Salyer; and nephew, John Salyer.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
