Sharon Beatty

Sharon Lynn (Hughes) Beatty, 50, of Jackson, formerly of Oak Hill, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at her residence after battling COVID. She was a 1989 graduate of Oak Hill High School and the Buckeye Hills Career Center.

She was born June 2, 1971, to Katherine Sue Hughes and the late William Hughes in Ft. Campbell, Ky. She was employed at Walmart, working in the deli, and was a former director of the Dwight Icenhower Fan Club. Sharon enjoyed attending Cincinnati Red baseball games with her husband.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents: William and Helen Hughes; maternal grandparents: John Wallace and Jerri McCain Wallace; and an aunt, Frances McCain Hughes. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband of 14 years, Clifford Beatty; two stepsons: Tyllere and Logan Beatty; brother, William “Scott” (Jennifer) Hughes and Patricia Evans; niece, Katie (Josh) McElroy; uncles: Richard Hughes, Jack Wallace and Kenny Wallace; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Marilyn Beatty; as well as several cousins.

Friends may call Monday, November 8, 2021, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ed Johnson officiating. Sharon’s final place of rest will be at Buckeye Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
