Sharon A. Grimes

Sharon A. (Ousley) Grimes, age 75, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. She was born Sept. 27, 1941 in Vinton, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Anastasia (Essman) Ousley.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert “Dip” Grimes of Jackson, Ohio; son, Bobby (Lori) Grimes of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren: Dakota (Tasha) Grimes, Gwendolyn Grimes, and Cyrus Grimes; great-grandchildren: Braxton, Raylyn, and Paden Grimes; siblings: Rita (Ed) Miller, Helen (Russ) Benson, Don (Mary Anne) Ousley, Mike (Brenda) Ousley, Carl (Kim) Ousley; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, David, Junior, Jim, Tim, and Jack Ousley.

Sharon retired from Jackson City Schools after 30 years where she touched the lives of countless children. She had a career in baking and decorating in Jackson for several years. She graduated from Wellston High School, Class of 1959. Sharon was known for her love and dedication to Elvis and Elvis tribute artist, Dwight Icenhower whom she knew personally.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Barry Benson officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
