Shane Gregory Kiefer

Shane Gregory Kiefer, age 20, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 23, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio at Ohio State University following a tragic accident in Jackson County, Ohio. Shane was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on November 25, 1994 to Gib and Judy (Turck) Kiefer of Jackson, Ohio.

Shane was a 2013 graduate of Jackson High School. He was known by all for his ornery smile, big heart, generosity, and energetic personality. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorsports, and loved the outdoors. He touched many lives and hearts in the short 20 years he lived and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Zach (Jessica) Kiefer of Jackson, Ohio; grandparents, Sam and Barbara Turck of Jackson, Ohio, grandmother, Mary Baber of Jackson, Ohio, and grandmother, Jeanette Kiefer of Jackson, Ohio; he is also survived by his girlfriend and mother of his unborn daughter, Wittney Martz of Jackson, Ohio; he is also survived by two special friends who helped keep him alive and made his last few hours possible, Tyler Hoover and Nick Walsh; as well as numerous close and special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Gilbert Kiefer; great-grandmother, Sue Turck; and special uncle, Brian Turck.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Hendershot officiating. Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery.
