Samuel “Sammy” Hale

Rev. Samuel “Sammy” Hale, age 77, of Oak Hill, went to be with the Lord early on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 20, 1939 in Williamson, West Virginia to the late William Sheridan Hale and Ella (Webb) Hale.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen (Kiser) Hale, of Oak Hill; children, Samuel Bryan (Johnette) Hale, of Jackson, Rhonda (Brian) Waugh, of Thurman, Ohio, Bradley Dean Hale (Mae Hammond), of Oak Hill, Renee (Tony) Simpson, of Bidwell, Ohio and Joshua David (Jessica) Hale, of Oak Hill; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; brothers, Jack, Jimmy and Ronnie Hale; sisters, Dorothy Davidson, Betty Harmon and Patty Romans. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Quinton, Edsel, Everett, Bill, Ellis and Leonard Hale.

He worked for many years at the Hiway Paving Co. and also pastored the Kokeen Church.

Friends may call Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 11-1 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held immediately after the calling hours Saturday at 1:00 with Pastor Danny Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery.
