Samuel Alex “Sammy” Adkins, age 50, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on to be with our Lord Jesus on April 2, 2020 at Oakwood Community Health Center. He was born on Oct. 6, 1969 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Alex Adkins and Joyce (Lewis) Kozee.
Sam is survived by his wife, Amanda (Moore) Adkins of Jackson, Ohio; daughter, Tabitha Adkins of Jackson, Ohio; sons, Nathan Adkins of Jackson, Ohio and Austin Adkins of Wellston, Ohio; stepdaughter, Serena Cartwright of South Vienna, Ohio; stepson, Ryan Cartwright of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren: Jaylan Proctor, Drake Proctor, and Alexis Christman of Jackson, Ohio, Conner Jones of Wellston, Ohio, Brodey Lyons, Aiyanna Lyons, and Adria Lyons of South Vienna, Ohio, and Roman Cartwright of Jackson, Ohio; mother, Joyce (Lewis) Kozee of Chillicothe, Ohio; sisters, Myrtle Gail Barker of Chillicothe, Ohio and Vivian Sue Garrett of Wellston, Ohio; grandmother, Myrtle T. Adkins of Pikeville, Kentucky; special cousin, Tasha Wickline of Jackson, Ohio; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Sam was a 1988 graduate of Wellston High School. He was formerly a delivery and sales associate and account manager with Rent2Own of Jackson, Logan, and Lancaster, Ohio.
In addition to his father, Sam was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Adkins, with whom he is surely enjoying a reunion in heaven. Sam was well loved by everyone who knew him and will be sorely missed here on Earth.
