Ruth Leona (Balzer) Garthee, age 91, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021. She was a resident of Jenkins Care Center at Wellston, Ohio.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Garthee and a close friend, Frank Lundy. Ruth was the daughter of Peter Balzer Jr. and his wife Mabel (Halterman) Balzer. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Gladys Balzer Chandler, Mary Balzer, and brothers, Robert, Wiliam and Warren Balzer. She is survived by one brother, Phillip Balzer of Jackson.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
