Ruth Elaine (Simpson) Exline

Ruth Elaine (Simpson) Exline, age 90, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at Four Winds Nursing Home surrounded by loved ones. Ruth was born April 18, 1929, to the late Orville and Ida Mae (Shook) Simpson.  She was one of 12 children and grew up on Simpson Road, where she stayed for the remainder of her life.

On June 7, 1947, she married Harold “Heck” Exline, and together they had seven children.  She spent her life loving Jesus, loving people, and hosting Sunday family dinners where she cooked the best noodles.  Ruth was a faithful member of Victory Chapel Church until its doors closed in 2019, and she then started attending Grace United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Heck; son, Randy Exline; daughter, Pamela Grosjean; and son-in-law, John Grosjean. She was also preceded in death by some of her siblings.

Ruth is survived by her children: Penny (Don) Hill, Danny (Carolyn) Exline, Linda (Roger) White, Patty Exline, and Barry (Lori) Exline; 10 grandchildren: Marty (Kyle) Exline, Jennifer (John) Wilson, Heather (Seth) Michael, Julie (Donnie) Brown, Tim White, Adam (Megan) Hill, Joanie (David) Gillum, Megan (Steve) Phillips, and Matthew and Charity Exline.  Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, in-laws, and special friends.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.  Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev.
