Ruby N. Plummer

Ruby N. Plummer, age 72, recently of Jenkins Nursing Home and formerly of The Cambrian, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born October 4, 1941 in Jackson County, the daughter of James and Belva Straten. 

She was a long-time member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and the DAV. She loved going to Bingo every Friday and Sunday at the DAV. She also enjoyed playing cards. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Thabiatha (Roger) Poe and Pandora (Vance) Teasley of Wellston, and Susan Shaw of South Webster; two sisters, Roma Grimes of Jackson and Wanda (William) Albright of Wellston; one brother, Richard Straten of Gallipolis; as well as four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald David Erwin; three brothers, Paul, Erza and John Straten; two sisters, Ruth and Erma Straten; and one grandchild. 

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
