Roy Lee Chaffin, age 62, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born August 3, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Warren and Antha “Blackburn” Chaffin.
He retired from Big Bear after working for many years as a baker. He was a member of the Jackson Presbyterian Church, a supporter of the AMVETS Post 84 and the VFW Post 8402, an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt and most importantly, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Mapes Chaffin; children, Cheri McGinnis and Adam (Tia) Chaffin; step-children, Pam Angel and Mitchell (Marcia) Shumate; brothers, Tom (Barb) Chaffin and Ronnie (Ronda) Chaffin; sister, Kathy (Larry) Hensley; grandchildren, Nicole (Donovan) Halterman, Carl Angel III, Anne Marie Angel, Katie Shumate, Emily Shumate, Trew Chaffin, Natalie Fowler, Andrew Shumate, Trustin Chaffin, Gracie Shumate, Olivia Shumate and Tryce Chaffin; great-grandchildren, Malikai Lotondress and Emma Chelsea Halterman; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and close friend, Ed Yates.
