Ronald W. Puckett

Ronald W. Puckett, 74, of Oak Hill, Ohio, and formerly of South Webster, passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born on Sept. 27, 1946 in West Portsmouth to the late Frank and Alice (Clifford) Puckett.  He was a 1965 graduate of Oak Hill High School, Class of 1965.  Ron had worked for the railroad, OSCO in Jackson, and retired from Bloom-Vernon Elementary School in maintenance after 25 years.  After retirement he enjoyed working his farm and homeplace.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth and infant brothers, Rodney and James. He is survived by his long-time life companion, Wilma J. Bishop; children, Richard (Kamala) Puckett, Tracey (Carmeletta) Puckett of Chillicothe, and Judy Ann Puckett of Pedro; special friend, John Bowens; grandchildren, Josh, Jodie, Princess Joy, Chris, Brittney, Bo, Little Tracey, Tristen, Cassie, Connor, Josie and Dara; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roger, Robert and Jeffrey Puckett, JoAnn Cox and Pauline Colmer; numerous nieces and nephews; and Wilma’s children, Paula (Rick) Horn and Rodney Bishop.

Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 from 12 p.m. (noon) until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home, 202 Maple St., Oak Hill with Rev. Ed Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in South Webster Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of choice.  Per CDC and governor guidelines, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice proper social distancing.  Online condolences may be made to olivercheekfuneralhome.com and/or lewisgillum.com
