Ronald Ray

By | May 7, 2021

Ronald Eugene Ray, AKA Ronnie Ray, AKA Roger Ramsey, just depends on where he was. Ronnie left his earthly home and moved on, Friday, May 5, 2021. YES… it was Cinco De Mayo!  We all know how Ronnie liked a good drink, or a bad one; he just enjoyed having a drink. He was born on March 6, 1966 to Linda Ragland Ray and the late Phil Ray.

He lived mainly in Jackson all his life; he was a 1984 graduate from Jackson High School. After graduation, he went on to give the Army a try for a few years. After returning from Alaska and his military career, his next adventure was being a Corrections Officer at RCI for several years and eventually being relocated to Florida to continue his career as a CO. While working in Florida as a CO, he decided to take on another new adventure and became a truck driver.  Ronnie loved watching the Bengals, preferably getting a win, and also running the ridges.

He is survived by his momma Dukes: Linda Ray; brother: Damon (Valerie) Ray, niece, Hillary Ray; best friend for decades, Alison Opheim; and two stepsons, Lance (Crystal) Adkins and Jon Adkins. He is also survived by his granddaughter Maddie and grandson Cason as well as many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction on the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.
