Roger K. Hutchinson

Roger K. Hutchinson, age 55, of Blackfork, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Arbor’s Nursing Home in Gallipolis, with family at his bedside, after a short illness of cancer.

He was born November 29, 1958 in Oak Hill to the late Zack and Dorothy (Keels) Hutchinson. He was a lifetime resident of Blackfork, and a member of Union Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hutchinson and a sister, Cheryl Hutchinson.

He is survived by two sons, Colin and Cory McDermitt, and also special friend, Connie McDermitt and Coty. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Hutchinson, of Blackfork; brothers, Larry (Susan) Hutchinson, of Blackfork, Lonnie (Michelle) Hutchinson, of Gallipolis, Byron (Lonna) Hutchinson, of Jackson, and Howell Hutchinson, of Arbor’s Nursing Home in Gallipolis; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed in the community.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Union Baptist Church in Blackfork, with Rev. Tim Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.
