Roger Emmert

Roger A. Emmert, age 68, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at his residence. He was born January 20, 1953, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to the late Eugene J. Emmert and Dorothy P. Poling Emmert. Roger graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1971. He was a former Wellston City Police Officer and was also known as a member of the Ray Cobb Band. He later retired as a cook in South Carolina. Roger was very talented on the keyboard and guitar and enjoyed sharing that with others. He loved playing word games on the computer and spending time with his family. Roger was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9092 in Wellston.

He is survived by daughters: Tracy McComas (Cody) and Angel Emmert; grandsons: Blake Royster and Brendon Emmert; stepchildren: Vicki Carr (Phillip), Jason Lowe (Amber) and Jeremy Lowe; step-grandchildren: Katina Lowe, Mahaila Lowe and Jason Lowe, Jr.; brothers: Rick Emmert (Linda), David Emmert (Janice) and Jerry Emmert (Tami); and nieces: Star Sawicki and Trisken Emmert. Besides his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Tina Lowe Emmert on February 10, 2021; and niece, Robin Emmert.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 23, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. In keeping with Roger’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.
